Fit & Fabric
Every Far Country design is printed on the Comfort Colors 1717 — a heavyweight, garment-dyed unisex tee with a relaxed, lived-in fit. Here is exactly what you are getting, and how to keep it.
The fabric: Comfort Colors 1717
We print on the Comfort Colors 1717 — a garment-dyed heavyweight tee that has become a favorite of boutique brands for good reason. At 6.1 oz of 100% ring-spun cotton, it is one of the heaviest, most substantial blanks on the market. It has real weight in the hand and structure on the body — nothing thin or papery about it.
The character comes from the garment dyeing. Instead of dyeing the yarn and then sewing the shirt, the whole garment is dyed after it is sewn. The result is a soft, broken-in feel from the very first wear, a rich and slightly washed color, and a lived-in quality that makes each piece subtly unique. Because the cotton has already been through the dye-and-wash process, shrinkage is minimal.
It is built to last, too:
- Shoulder-to-shoulder twill tape so the neckline keeps its shape wash after wash
- Double-needle stitched sleeves and hem for durability
- A ribbed collar and a clean, classic cut
We chose it because the artwork deserves a canvas worth keeping — a shirt you reach for because it feels as good as it looks.
How it fits
It is a relaxed unisex fit — roomy and casual, not slim. It is true to size if you like that look. If you prefer a more fitted shirt, size down. Garment-dyed cotton may shrink slightly; wash cold and hang or tumble low to keep the fit.
Measurements (inches)
Measured flat. Width is across the chest; length is shoulder to hem.
| Size | Chest width | Length |
|---|---|---|
| S | 18" | 28" |
| M | 20" | 29" |
| L | 22" | 30" |
| XL | 24" | 31" |
| 2XL | 26" | 32" |
| 3XL | 28" | 33" |
Measurements are approximate and may vary up to an inch or so — normal for garment-dyed apparel. Sizes up to 4XL are available on most designs.
Caring for it
Garment-dyed cotton is meant to age gracefully — it only gets softer. To keep the color and fit: wash cold, inside out, with like colors; tumble dry low or hang to dry; and skip the bleach.
Still unsure?
Grab a t-shirt you already love, lay it flat, and compare its chest width to the table above — that is the most reliable way to pick your size.
